In this session the DRC Mining Week will deliberate and share their opinion on the stigmatization of the mining sector. Experts will also address challenges related to the increase of taxes surrounding the mining sector and will provide comprehensive guidelines to improve collaboration with mining operators at the time when the DRC mining industry strives for global positioning as a world minerals and metal leader.

TRACK 7: YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM (YEP) INCLUSION OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE MINING SECTOR

YEP, is DRC Mining Week's new initiative to empower and encourage young entrepreneurs and students who are interested in the mining ecosystem to become more involved in mining conversations, to be part of the game changer of tomorrow. In this session young talents will be sharing their opinion on the integration system of young entrepreneurs in the mining environment; and the role that universities should play in collaborating with mining companies. The session will also highlight the successes of some of these young talents who stand out, and who are ready to integrate jobs in the mining sector and its value chain.

TRACK 8: HUMAN CAPITAL INVESTMENT EMPLOYEES’ MOTIVATION IN THE MINING SECTOR

Despite DRC’s wealthy soil, some workers in the mining sector are still struggling to afford basic needs due to the high cost of goods and living. This session will address challenges faced by workers in the mining sector in the DRC and propose solutions as a stimulus to boost performance and productivity at the time when the global market predicts that the green energy transition may depends upon a bigger supply of minerals and metals.
