Marie-Gabrielle Opese is Managing Director of Standard Bank in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a position she has held since April 2023. In this role, with the support of her colleagues, she steers the strategic orientations and management of this subsidiary of the South African financial giant, the Standard Bank Group, stimulating its growth and ensuring its continued success. 

Her years at these institutions and at Standard Bank RDC have forged her high sense of discipline and ethics, exceptional leadership, strategic vision and commitment to promoting excellence and growth. 

With three decades in the banking sector, her extensive experience of the banking industry, combined with her proven track record of outstanding results, make her a respected figure. 

Marie-Gabrielle Opese is recognized for her expertise in the financial sector. As a token of this recognition by her peers, Ms Opese was elected President of the Association Congolaise des Banques, which comprises the 15 commercial banks licensed in the DRC, in March 2024.
