Visa Requirements

ALL PASSPORT HOLDERS REQUIRE A VISA TO ENTER THE DRC. THIS VISA MUST BE OBTAINED PRIOR TO TRAVEL.

Requirements for visitor visas differ from country to country and each application is treated as an individual case. Please make enquiries with your nearest consulate to see if you need to apply for a visa. Please note that in some cases it may take a month to obtain the visa, so ensure that you apply early!

Visitors are advised to carry small-denomination USD notes in good condition, as damaged or marked banknotes may be refused. Credit card facilities are limited, and it is recommended that travelers carry sufficient cash for daily transactions.

HEALTH TIPS & VACCINATIONS

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Travellers to the Democratic Republic of Congo are advised to consult a healthcare professional or travel clinic well in advance of departure regarding recommended vaccinations. A valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required for entry. Additional vaccinations commonly advised include Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Tetanus, and routine immunisations.

Malaria is present throughout the country; appropriate anti-malarial medication, insect repellent, and protective clothing are strongly recommended. Visitors should drink only bottled or treated water, avoid ice in beverages, and follow standard food safety precautions. Comprehensive travel health insurance, including medical evacuation cover, is strongly advised.
