Albi Modise serves as Senior Executive Manager: Communication and Marketing at the Gautrain Management Agency (GMA). Prior to joining the GMA, Modise dedicated 14 years to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) as Chief Director: Communication and Spokesperson.
Modise’s fervent passion for journalism and media led him to Rhodes University School of Journalism. There, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies and History in 1995, followed by an Honours degree in Journalism and Media Studies in 1996.
Throughout his career, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in marketing, communication, and related fields. His positions have spanned media writing, brand management, academia, communications policy, media relations, stakeholder relations, and corporate communications, among others.
His contribution to academia includes three academic years as a Lecturer at Tshwane University of Technology. Modise has also served the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), the State IT Agency, and served as Spokesperson for the Ministry of Communications.
In addition to his media and journalism qualifications, Modise holds a Certificate in Telecommunications Policy, Regulation and Management from Wits University. He has also completed the General Management Programme (GMP) and the Leadership Accelerated Programme from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
