For the first time this year, the summit offered a variety of workshops and training sessions focused on key aspects of mobility and transport management. One notable workshop centered on electric fleet management, addressing crucial topics such as transitioning to renewable energy sources and optimizing charging strategies for electric vehicle fleets. Another specialized training session, part of the Global Trust Project, aimed to enhance understanding and trust within mobility organizations to boost performance and foster innovation.
On the Green Fleet stage there was a session that provided a detailed training on modeling the total cost of ownership for zero emission vehicles, helping stakeholders make informed decisions regarding vehicle investments. This workshop session also explored innovative financing models for mobility projects, focusing on emerging funding solutions that enhance access for underserved communities, thereby promoting sustainable and equitable transport for all.
About the Facilitator
Alex Munene is the Founder & Fleet Mobility Expert at Advanced Mobility in Nairobi, Kenya - a centre which offers E-mobility capacity building, Fleet management consulting, and Advanced driver training. He has over 18 years’ experience in fleet management, vehicle leasing, project management, dealer management & advanced driver training. He has directly managed over 6,000 fleet vehicles and drivers across different industries and sectors to achieve exemplary fleet availability & optimization rates. Alex believes that technical skills are a key pillar to enable smooth adoption of EVs in Africa, and he organized the first EV Driver training and E-Mobility Technical training programs in Kenya.
