COUNTRY SPOTLIGHT FOR SOUTH AFRICA
The Gautrain, a rapid transit rail system is considered one of the fastest world-class trains in Africa, with a speed of 160 kilometres per hour.
FUN FACT: South Africa has the world’s largest suspension bridge built exclusively for pedestrians known as the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban which offers beautiful views.

COUNTRY SPOTLIGHT EGYPT
The Nile river is an asset for Egypt’s main mode of transport. Many boats ferry people and goods throughout the country. Egypt also has an extensive railway network with over 7,500 kilometres of tracks. The Cairo Metro is Africa’s first subway system and is also one of the oldest in the world.
FUN FACT: The Cairo metro is the only fully-fledged subway system in Africa and is one of the busiest in the world, transporting over 4 million passengers daily.

COUNTRY SPOTLIGHT MORROCCO
Morocco is known for its extensive public transport network, including buses, trains, trams, and taxis. The country is home to Africa’s first high-speed train network, the Al Boraq, which runs from Casablanca to Tangier at speeds of up to 320 km/h.
FUN FACT: A unique initiative in Morrocco is a bike-sharing program called “Medina Bike”. This program allows tourists and locals to rent bicycles at reasonable prices and ride them through the narrow streets of the ancient medina in the city of Marrakech. It not only promotes eco-friendly tourism but also helps to reduce traffic in the historic district.

COUNTRY SPOTLIGHT KENYA
Kenya is strongly committed to reducing its carbon footprint which has created a demand for sustainable mobility solutions. Its robust technology sector has provided the country with necessary skills and resources to develop & integrate smart mobility solutions. The support from government in providing infrastructure and incentives has made it easier for companies to invest in technologies.
FUN FACT: Kenya has a strong mobile network, providing the infrastructure needed for smart mobility solutions to thrive.
COUNTRY SPOTLIGHT RWANDA
Rwanda has invested heavily in improving public transport. Government has worked tirelessly to improve commuter experience and connect people to the bus network. They have expanded bus routes and introduced new busses on their roads. The country is also investing in a high-speed rail project that will connect Rwanda with neighbouring countries, making it easier to travel across borders.
FUN FACT: In 2019, Rwanda launched a drone delivery service in partnership with a US-based company. The service delivers medical supplies, blood, and other essential items to remote areas that are difficult to reach by road.
