Imogene Mncwango is a highly experienced leader in the South African bus transport sector, with over 20 years of industry service. She currently serves as the President of the Southern African Bus Operators Association (SABOA), a key organization representing public bus operators across South Africa.Â
As a committed advocate for equity in transport, Imogene is also a Director of GWIT (Gauteng Women in Transport), where she actively advances the inclusion and leadership of women in the transport sector — particularly in Gauteng province  — through mentorship, networking, training and policy engagement initiatives.Â
Her leadership platforms reflect her passion for women’s empowerment, transformation, and structural inclusion within the historically male-dominated sphere of bus and public transport. Through both SABOA and GWIT, Imogene champions meaningful change, ensuring women are not only recognised, but are central decisionmakers in transport governance.Â
