Ayodeji Stephen

Doctoral Researcher

Ayodeji is a dedicated and ambitious professional in the field of clean energy, with a keen focus on driving the transition to sustainable energy sources and reducing carbon emissions in the transportation sector. Previously, he served as a Technical Assistant at the International Power-to-X Hub (IP2X), where he played a vital role in developing and implementing innovative solutions for green hydrogen production and promoting electric mobility. Currently pursuing a PhD at Dublin City University (DCU), Ayodeji’s research within the NexSys project delves into the potential of hydrogen as a means to decarbonize transportation systems. 
 
With over four years of hands-on experience in the sustainable energy sector, Ayodeji has collaborated with diverse organizations across Africa and globally, leveraging his expertise as a policy advisor, project manager, and researcher. He holds a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy Economics from the University of Ibadan, complemented by a Mini Master’s in Energy Regulation from the European University Institute. 
 
Ayodeji’s contributions extend beyond academia, as evidenced by his role as a UNEP Fellow for the GEO-7 project, a flagship initiative addressing environmental challenges. He has also served as a policy fellow at Agora Energiewende, a renowned think tank specializing in energy system transformation. Through his involvement in renewable energy project financing, stakeholder engagement, and policy research, Ayodeji has demonstrated a commitment to advancing sustainable energy practices on a global scale. A member of esteemed professional networks including Student Energy and the African Energy Council, Ayodeji’s multifaceted expertise and dedication make him a valuable asset in the pursuit of a greener future.
