Shanghai Turbine Works Co., Ltd. (STWC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. Its predecessor was the Resources Commission Universal Machinery Co., Ltd., established in 1946. STWC is China’s first enterprise dedicated to the design and manufacture of steam turbines. In 1955, STWC produced China’s first 6,000 kW steam turbine, earning the reputation as the “”Cradle of China’s Steam Turbine Industry.””

STWC possesses the independent capability to design and manufacture world-class products including: Thermal Power, Nuclear Power Series Industrial Steam Turbines and other turbine products (10MW~1400MW). The units have set new benchmarks for world energy consumption levels.
