Siju Joseph has over 20 years of experience at Eskom/ NTCSA. His career started in the System Operator as a protection system engineer. He then went on to lead the Ancillary Services department. During this time, he was a member of the SAPP Markets subcommittee for a period. He also chaired the SAPP Emergency response workgroup. At present he is the chair of the Eskom Blackout workgroup that coordinates efforts within Eskom as well externally. He is also a member of the NERSA Grid Code Advisory committee. He was part of the team that assisted with the compilation of the Battery Energy storage Code. He is part of the technical team that assists the IPPO in designing the Section 34 programs. He is also a member of the Market Rules subcommittee in Eskom representing the System Operator.
