Ronald Marais is the Senior Manager for Strategic Grid Planning at the National Transmission Company South Africa SOC Limited (NTCSA), which officially began operations on 1 July 2024. As the head of the Transmission Strategy Grid Planning section, his primary focus includes strategic grid planning for the South African transmission power grid, Southern African energy strategic planning, long-term transmission power system design, and stakeholder relationship management. With 31 years of experience, Ronald has significantly contributed to the development of the African power grid. He is also an active contributor to CIGRE.
