Matthew leads research and provides strategic advice on infrastructure, the just transition and sustainable development policy and finance. He focuses on electricity, water, freight logistics, passenger rail, roads and infrastructure finance. He specialises in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement and real-world impact. Through Krutham’s flagship subscription series, Matthew leads a team that provides real-time insights to help decision-makers navigate risks and opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Before joining Krutham, Matthew was head of ESG at Trialogue, developing integrated reporting solutions and helping organisations embed sustainability in core strategy. His consulting builds on an MBA from the University of Cape Town, a BA Honours from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and more than 10 years as a business and energy journalist at News24 Business.
