Gordon Dindi is the Manager of the City of Cape Town’s Distribution System Operator and has over twenty years’ experience in power system operations and managing Control Centres. A highlight of his career is the successful consolidation of multiple fragmented municipal control centres into a modernised and highly technologically advanced City of Cape Town’s Control Centre which is future-fit to manage multiple DER within a SAWEM environment. He is part of the team responsible for various aspects of grid security, implementing demand response measures, demand-supply realtime balancing, operational load forecasting, accelerated integration of Distributed Energy Resources, the phasing in of grid digitisation and automation whilst considering the least cost options and net benefits.
