Dr. Matji, the founder of MMIH, acquired his extensive technical, financial and infrastructure management experience in the past thirty-one years (31) from both public and private sector institutions. He is an Executive Chairman of Morwakoma Matji Investment Holdings (Pty) Ltd (‘’MMIH’’), a company that works with best-in-class international partners and local companies to deliver sustainable growth in the countries within which MMIH operates. With its local and global partners, MMIH provides an integrated an innovative economic infrastructure solution in the form of Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Maintenance (F+EPCM). In the past 31 years, Dr. Matji has extensive corporate governance experience acquired from a diverse range of state owned entities in South Africa. He serves / served on several Boards in various capacities (i.e. Johannesburg Water (Pty) Ltd, Overberg Water Board, Sekhukhune Development Agency, Roads Agency Limpopo SOC Limited, and Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). Currently, he still serves on the Board of one of Africa’s largest economic infrastructure Development Finance Institution, Development Bank of Southern Africa (‘’DBSA’’). He has been serving as a Non-Executive Director since October 2020. He served as a member of Infrastructure Delivery and Knowledge Management Committee (‘’IDKC’’) from October 2020 to January 2023. He was then promoted to the Chairperson of IDKC from February 2023 to date. He also serves on the Board Credit and Investment Committee (‘’BCIC’’) of the DBSA (2020 to date). The BCIC is mandated to review and approve investments in economic infrastructure (i.e. water, wastewater, energy, roads and transport, communications, rail, education and health) throughout the African Continent. He was a member of Human Resources Committee of the DBSA (February 2023 to 31 March).
