Mark is a seasoned leader and executive who fulfilled roles across the world at leading diversified resource companies during his almost 30-year career. He has a wealth of experience in strategic planning, organisational transformation, development and improvement, stakeholder and community engagement and operational excellence. 

Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering and started his career at BHP Iron Ore in Australia, gaining valuable experience in the industry by working as a shift foreman and control room operator, followed by a series of frontline management roles. Subsequently, he held various leadership positions at global mining companies, including the roles of general manager of BHP Billiton’s aluminium smelting operations in South Africa and Executive General Manager of MMG Limited’s operations and growth projects in Africa, Australia, and Asia. Mark was instrumental in driving value through improvement projects with group wide business transformations and site-specific interventions. He also designed and implemented new operating models and provided executive leadership support to various operations, unlocking sustained growth opportunities.
