Jonathan Hamisi is a Senior Policy Advisor at the IGF and a geologist with over 15 years of experience across the mining industry, academia, and government. Prior to joining IGF, he worked at the Geological Survey of Sweden. His expertise spans mineral exploration, mining operations, mine closure, resource governance, and policy development, with a strong focus on responsible mining practices. He has also held teaching and supervisory roles at Monash University and Stockholm University. Jonathan holds a PhD in Geology from Monash University in Australia, and master’s degrees from Stockholm University in Sweden and the University of Lubumbashi in the DRC.
