RENFIN/Hydropol Group, through dedicated project companies intends to increase Uganda’s electricity generation capacity by designing, constructing, commissioning, investing and owning and operating two small hydro power plants (SHPP), as part of UGANDA HYDRO POWER SOLUTION 18.0 MW programme:

9.5 MW Cheptui SHPP, a run-of-river high head scheme along the rivers Cheptui and Cheseber in Kapchorwa District, Eastern Uganda, Mt. Elgon area
Total project costs: 26 mil EUR
8.5 MW Mihunga SHPP, a run-of-river mid dle head scheme along rivers Mubuku and Ruboni in Kasese District, Western Uganda, Rwenzori Mountans area
Total project costs: 24 mil EUR

Projects in mature development stage and permitting, PPA, Implementation Agreement and Generation License, seeking debt and partial equity for successfull Financial Closure by 4Q 2026
