Overview
Atlanthia Green Hydrogen (Pty) Ltd (AGH) proudly presents a comprehensive and financially viable initiative for the production of green hydrogen and ammonia in South Africa. Situated within the deep-water Port of Saldanha, our project is strategically positioned in the Freeport Saldanha, designated as a special economic zone (SEZ). Leveraging solar and wind renewable energy, with the possibility of battery storage (BESS), we aim to supply electricity to the electrolysis (40MW), desalination, air separation, and Haber-Bosch green ammonia forming processes.
The outcome? The creation of 6,570 tons per annum of green hydrogen, along with green nitrogen, establishing a 35,950 tons per annum (100 tons per day) green ammonia production facility, equivalent to 438GWh, in the first phase of our project. This marks a significant step towards sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
Looking ahead, our visionary project envisions a phase 4 iteration that boasts 25 times the capacity of phase 1, exemplifying our commitment to driving substantial growth and impact in the green hydrogen and ammonia production landscape
