CAPACITI, a flagship initiative of UVU Africa NPO, is dedicated to driving inclusive growth in the digital economy across Africa by empowering young talent and providing them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities needed to thrive in the technology, creative and informal sectors. Established over a decade ago, CAPACITI has evolved into one of Africa’s premier talent development accelerators, shaping the future workforce by addressing the challenges of unemployment and digital exclusion to underutilised youth.

The organisation was born out of the pressing need to connect South Africa’s burgeoning tech sector with a talent pool equipped to drive digital transformation. CAPACITI’s offerings have evolved and expanded to include entrepreneurship, skills development, and talent development. By leveraging a unique blend of technical training, soft skills development, mentorship, and practical work experience, CAPACITI has successfully upskilled thousands of graduates and placed them into meaningful employment opportunities within leading companies and SMMEs.

CAPACITI collaborates with multiple stakeholders including corporates, government agencies, and tech hubs to create a sustainable pipeline of skilled professionals ready to contribute to the growth of Africa’s economy. With offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Hazyview and Gqeberha, and a growing alumni network, CAPACITI is poised to continue expanding its reach and deepening its impact across the continent.
