Dr. Nikki Funke is a public policy specialist and programme leader with extensive experience across South Africa’s governance, climate, and water sectors. As the UK PACT South Africa Country Lead at the British High Commission, she drives strategic partnerships and supports projects advancing the country’s just energy transition. She was previously at the CSIR leading and conducting multidisciplinary research on governance and institutional systems. Nikki is passionate about translating evidence into action and has published widely, presented internationally, and built deep expertise in strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and science communication. She holds a PhD in Public Policy Studies from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
