Clickatell

Fred Lowe is a senior technology and innovation leader at Clickatell, where he leads the design and delivery of AI-driven platforms powering conversational and chat-based digital commerce at scale. With over 11 years at Clickatell, Fred has played a foundational role in shaping the company’s engineering, platform, and AI capabilities. He began his career as a senior backend developer before establishing Clickatell’s DevOps function, where he redesigned the organisation’s CI/CD and security automation, migrated teams to GitLab, and led the transition from EC2-based services to Kubernetes. As Enterprise Architect, he drove platform and infrastructure standards focused on security, resilience, and long-term operability. In 2023, Fred founded Clickatell’s Innovation (R&D) department, where he led the creation of Clickatell AI—an enterprise-grade AI platform enabling AI agents, conversational automation, content generation, intent recognition, sentiment analysis, retrieval-augmented generation, and autonomous orchestration across chat commerce channels. These capabilities now power AI-driven journeys within deterministic -, probabilistic -, human-in-the-loop workflows, as well as Clickatell’s broader digital commerce ecosystem.
