Dr. Abdulrazaq Abubakar Garba is a distinguished Nigerian geoscientist and mineral exploration expert with over three decades of experience in geological mapping, mineral exploration, resource evaluation, and geoscience administration. He studied Geology at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and later earned a Ph.D. in Economic Geology and Mineral Exploration from the University of Ilorin.
He joined the Geological Survey Department in 1987, rising to Director of Economic Geology (2016) before becoming the third Director-General of the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency. He contributed to landmark projects including the Geological and Metallogenic Maps of Nigeria, mineral resource bulletins, and laboratory development initiatives, and led key gold resource evaluations in Kebbi State and Baban Tsauni.
A Fellow of the Geological Society of London and the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, Dr. Garba is currently Principal Partner of Arton Mining Resources, Chairman of the Mineral Trade Group of NACCIMA, and serves on the boards of several mining and minerals companies.
