
With close to two decades of experience in the tech industry, Chesarae Kris Pillay is a passionate senior tech professional with a proven track record across diverse industries, including health, financial services, and education. Currently serving as Head of Partnerships at CAPACITI, the digital skills and talent accelerator within the UVU Africa Group, Chesarae is also a member of the organisation’s leadership team. In this role, he works at the intersection of industry, education, and innovation—building strategic partnerships that expand opportunities for youth, businesses, and the digital economy at large.
Whether creating solutions that drive business transformation or shaping programmes that strengthen digital inclusion, he prioritises value-driven technology and systems that create meaningful impact. Grounded in his academic background—a degree in Psychology and an Honours degree in Information Technology Systems—Chesarae is committed to ensuring technology serves people, processes, and society in ethical and sustainable ways.
A dedicated advocate for inclusion in tech, he invests his time and expertise in collaborating with businesses, institutions, and non-profits that champion STEM education and open pathways for marginalised and previously excluded youth into professional careers.
