Angus McIntosh, often referred to as “Farmer Angus,” grew up on a cattle farm in KwaZulu-Natal and initially pursued a career in management accounting. After working as a stockbroker for Goldman Sachs in London, he shifted focus to farming, inspired by authors like Joel Salatin and Michael Pollan. With guidance from Christo Kok, he began farming on the Spier estate near Stellenbosch in 2008.
In 2014, Angus became one of the first farmers globally to sell carbon credits from his pasture, allowing him to provide income for his team. His company, Farmer Angus Carbon, now offers consulting to other farmers interested in regenerative practices. He advocates for sustainable farming as a means to address issues like climate change, food security, and animal welfare, believing that regeneration is required.
