Angela Barter is a sustainability communication strategist and founder of The PR Agency, with over 25 years’ experience in public relations. She holds an MPhil in Environmental Management from Stellenbosch University and specialises in advising organisations on communicating sustainability with credibility, ensuring claims are aligned with operational reality and avoid greenwashing. Her work focuses on strengthening trust through clear, substantiated environmental claims in increasingly scrutinised markets. She has worked with organisations including the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) South Africa and is a recognised thought leader, having spoken at global platforms such as the Global Alliance World Public Relations Forums and contributed to the Handbook of Public Relations. She lectures on sustainability communication at the University of Johannesburg and serves as a judge for sustainability and conservation-related award categories.
