May 2026
Across Africa, climate and green economy finance discussions are increasingly shifting from pledges to delivery. While recent policy statements and finance initiatives have reinforced the continent’s role in the global transition, African leaders and investors continue to point to a shortage of large, investment-ready projects and scalable delivery platforms as a critical constraint. Against this backdrop, Africa’s Green Economy Summit (AGES) will return to Cape Town from 23 to 26 February 2027, with a sharpened focus on execution, scale and active capital deployment.
Africa’s Green Economy Summit (AGES) will once again take place at the Century City Conference Centre, marking the next phase in the evolution of Africa’s leading green investment platform.
Building on the momentum of recent editions, AGES 2027 will further strengthen its role as a curated investment marketplace, connecting global capital with African opportunities across the green and blue economy. The 2027 edition places an even stronger emphasis on execution, scale and delivery, moving beyond dialogue to support tangible investment outcomes.
“The challenge today is no longer ambition — it is execution at scale,” says Emmanuelle Nicholls, Portfolio Director: Green Economy at VUKA Group, the event organiser. “AGES 2027 is focused on refining the marketplace: clearer pathways for projects, deeper engagement for investors, and practical mechanisms such as the Green Village that support transaction-oriented engagement.”
The Green Village at the core of AGES 2027
A central feature of AGES 2027 will be the Green Village — a dedicated, investment-focused marketplace designed to facilitate targeted engagement between project owners, solution providers, cities, countries, corporates and capital providers.
Structured around priority sectors including renewable energy, transport, water, circular economy solutions, sustainable agriculture and forestry, green buildings, clean technologies and the blue economy, the Green Village will present credible, implementation-ready projects and scalable technologies and solutions, creating a clear interface between investment capital and opportunities on the ground.
Refocusing the pitch programme on scale and expansion
The AGES pitch programme will be refined in 2027 to place greater emphasis on large-scale and expansion-phase projects, responding directly to investor demand for opportunities capable of absorbing capital and delivering impact at scale.
While early-stage innovation and startups remain an important part of the AGES ecosystem, the recalibrated pitch programme will prioritise projects seeking growth capital, scale-up finance and strategic partners, aligned with the Summit’s execution-driven focus.
Partner-led side events to strengthen the ecosystem
AGES 2027 will be complemented by a programme of partner-led side events, curated to deepen ecosystem engagement and broaden participation across the green economy value chain. Organised by investment partners, development institutions and thematic platforms, these side events will provide targeted spaces for sector-specific dialogue, collaboration and deal development — enhancing the overall delegate experience while remaining aligned with AGES’ investment-led objectives.
A proven platform for credible engagement
The direction for 2027 builds on strong foundations. At AGES 2026, the Summit facilitated 44 curated project pitches, representing an estimated US$1.7 billion investment pipeline, alongside 287 confirmed matchmaking meetings between investors and project developers. Over 600 participants from 40 countries, including 124 investors from 72 organisations, reinforcing AGES’ position as a trusted convening space for serious capital and credible projects.
Iain Banner, Founder and Chairman of Go Green Africa (GGA), adds:
“Africa’s green economy represents one of the continent’s powerful engines for inclusive growth. Platforms like AGES are critical in ensuring that capital flows into projects that create jobs, build resilience and deliver long-term value.”
A venue aligned with the Summit’s sustainability ethos
AGES 2027 will once again take place at the Century City Conference Centre, reflecting the Summit’s sustainability ambition through its four‑star Green Star rating, commitment to circular event practices, and emphasis on digitalisation and reduced material use.
As AGES looks ahead to 2027, the focus is clear: high-quality interactions, curated meetings, a stronger and more scalable project pipeline, deeper investor participation, and a marketplace designed for delivery — with the Green Village at its core.
