ImplementationZED Motors (ZED) is building Africa’s largest EV charging network and is seeking to deploy 22 Automated Battery Dispensers (ABDs), and 440 e-motorcycles across Benin Republic. Starting in Benin, ZED has already begun facilitating the EV transition, with the deployment of 130 e-motorcycles and 2 battery swapping stations across major cities in the country. ZED also has a market traction of over 20,000 driver leads, with 80 customer down payments, and has strategically partnered with Indian and Chinese manufacturers, and IoT and digital payment companies for the efficient deployment of its e-mobility solutions. ZED rents these batteries as a service and sells/leases the e-motorcycles to riders. To scale its innovative solution, ZED requires a seed investment of $750k to deploy 440 e-motorcycles and 22 ABDs (each with 12 battery slots), that can support up to 20 e-motorcycles each (hence the 440 e-motorcycles).
