Overview

Zambia National Service (ZNS), a critical institution under the Government of Zambia, operates 10 large-scale agricultural farms that play a central role in ensuring national food security. These farms consume considerable amounts of electricity, traditionally procured from the national grid at commercial tariff rates. ZNS is now seeking an innovative, sustainable, off-balance sheet solution to meet its energy needs through this project.

Partnering with Off-Grid Europe (OGE), a German solar EPC+F firm, and Lloyds Financials Limited (LFL), a Zambian investment advisory firm, the programme develops a 43MW distributed solar PV, battery storage and cooling hall solution across the 10 farms. The project will be implemented under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
