DC Solar Reclaim is a South African clean tech startup tackling one of the most urgent challenges in the renewable energy sector, the safe and sustainable management of end-of-life solar components.

With over 18 million solar panels already deployed across South Africa, the country faces a growing wave of photovoltaic (PV) waste. Most panels contain valuable but hazardous materials such as glass, aluminium, copper, and silicon, which require specialized recovery and recycling processes.

DC Solar Reclaim aims to establish a dedicated PV recycling and disposal facility, offering a complete circular solution: collection, testing, disassembly, material recovery, and certification of responsible disposal. The system will be fully traceable through serial-number tracking and aligned with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements under the National Environmental Management: Waste Act.
