TITAN MINERALS: “Growing and steady interest in Nigeria from junior exploration companies, especially from the UK, Australia and Canada”
Exclusive interview with Fadi A. Ghazale, MD and founder of Titan Minerals Ltd., the returning Diamond Plus sponsor of the upcoming Nigeria Mining Week, taking place in Abuja from 13–15 October 2025.
1. Let’s start with some background on Titan Minerals. Tell us about your services and how the company has grown.
At Titan Minerals, our vision is to become a world-leading, accredited mineral exploration company, renowned for utilizing modern exploration techniques and providing expert guidance in advancing assets from greenfield discovery to public listing.
Our team brings extensive experience in both conceptual and systematic targeting of mineralization—from regional-scale projects to the planning and execution of focused, prospect-scale exploration. Simply put, we support our clients at every stage of the exploration lifecycle, from deposit definition to resource drilling, and right through to the mining stage.
We ensure that all client investments are aligned with the expectations of the international community, financial institutions, banks, and credible investors—delivering data that meets the highest global standards.
In terms of exploratory drilling, Titan Minerals stands as one of the leading institutions in Nigeria, offering diamond drilling, reverse circulation (RC), and air core/RAB drilling capabilities.
Our capabilities are further enhanced by a wide array of geophysical and electromagnetic equipment, a state-of-the-art sample preparation laboratory, and advanced tools such as XRF spectrometers and LIBS analyzers for lithium and light element analysis. We also possess one of the largest and most comprehensive datasets on Nigeria’s mineral resources—detailing the occurrence and distribution of minerals across the country’s key mineral corridors.
2. How important is the Nigerian market for your organisation?
What’s particularly exciting about the current era is the growing and steady interest from junior exploration companies, especially those based in the UK, Australia, and Canada. These companies are increasingly curious about the true mineral potential of Nigeria and whether the country is — or will soon become — a recognized mining destination.
At Titan Minerals, we are actively engaged in multiple exploration projects, primarily focused on gold, lithium, tin, and base metals such as zinc, copper, and lead. Most notably, there is a
surging global demand for battery minerals, with a significant focus on lithium-bearing pegmatites and rare earth elements (REEs).
This global shift is positioning Nigeria as a key destination for junior explorers seeking new frontiers and untapped opportunities. It also reinforces our commitment to unlocking the country’s vast, underexplored mineral wealth and supporting the emergence of Nigeria as a critical player in the global mining landscape.
3. How excited are you about the burgeoning mining sector in Nigeria and what does this mean for your business there?
Beyond doubt, the Nigerian mining industry has gained interest over the course of the last couple of years. For instance, we are seeing that the Nigerian government has increasingly recognized the potential of the mining sector to diversify the economy away from oil dependency. Policies have been introduced to attract investment, improve regulatory frameworks, and enhance transparency.
Efforts have been made to streamline and strengthen the regulatory environment. The Nigerian Mining Industry Roadmap and the Mineral Sector Support for Economic Diversification (MINSED) project are examples of initiatives aimed at improving sector governance and promoting sustainable development.
Additionally, there has been a noticeable uptick in private sector investment, both local and international. Companies are exploring and developing various mineral resources, including gold, lithium, tin, barite and base metals. This shift indicates growing confidence in the sector’s potential and certainly more concrete opportunities for companies like us that are ready to drive the industry growth in line with best international practice.
4. Titan Minerals has been a longstanding, leading partner of Nigeria Mining Week. How important is this annual gathering of the mining industry?|
Being a diamond plus sponsor for the 4th consecutive year shows the value that our company has been able to extract from the Nigeria Mining Week. We are working with great minds, and we believe that this yearly event is a strategic gathering point for key stakeholders across government, private sector, and the international investment community. It serves as a catalyst for dialogue, innovation, and actionable partnerships that are essential to unlocking the full potential of Nigeria’s vast mineral resources.
5. This year is the tenth edition of Nigeria Mining Week. Your thoughts?
For us, exhibiting for the 10th consecutive year perfectly aligns with our commitment to fostering sustainable development, promoting local content, and advancing responsible mining practices across the country. It is also a unique opportunity to connect with policymakers, geologists, operators, service providers, and investors — all united by a shared vision of transforming mining into a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic growth.
As the global demand for critical minerals continues to rise, Nigeria is positioned to emerge as a leading mining investment destination in Africa. Nigeria Mining Week plays a vital role in this transformation by creating a space where ideas become projects, and partnerships evolve into progress.
6. What will be your message at the event this year?
We are extremely excited for the 2025 Nigeria Mining Week and looking forward to gaining a wider exposure. We want the local companies to get acquainted with our unique mineral exploration services and the global juniors to know that the Nigerian market already entails highly renowned exploration companies with an access to globally recognized experts with a vast experience in Nigeria’s distinctive geological terrain.
