Overview

The Solid Waste Aggregation Network (SWANET), an IPR of Waste Professionals Ltd (WastePro), is a digital economy that engages blockchain technology in the environmental sector. SWANET undertakes an effective waste management program within the Nigerian state as it recycles waste to produce Asunle-P(PET flakes and granules, and LDPE regrind & granules), Nouveau-F (organic fertiliser), and Wastefuels (RDF and SRF). SWANET trades waste daily on its payment service bank (PSB) platform and tracks waste from cradle to grave. SWANET provides financial inclusion and employment for 856 indigent youths and women, as waste collection is undertaken in un-serviced low-income neighbourhoods. Our program replaces the use of open dumpsites, which causes environmental pollution and saves the planet 184,257.43 tons of CO2 equivalent/annum from the immediate deployment in two (2) LGAs, while 568,460.01 tons of CO2 equivalent/annum would be saved from six (6) LGAs of Ibadan Municipality in 36months.
