Based in Kenya, Samaking works to make fish the #1 protein on African plates by improving how fish is produced, aggregated, transported, processed, and sold. The company partners with smallholder fish farmers and local women traders (“Mama Samakis”), enabling them to access fair prices, reliable cold-chain logistics, and higher-value markets.

Samaking operates a network of cold-chain-enabled aggregation hubs that ensure fish is harvested, stored, and delivered at the right temperature, reducing spoilage and increasing income for producers. These hubs are powered by solar energy and integrated with digital systems that track inventory, quality, and payments in real-time. On the market side, Samaking supplies fish to retail outlets, wholesalers, restaurants, and households through a mix of in-store sales and direct delivery.
