ImplementationSafi Organics is pioneering Africa’s transition to regenerative agriculture through a decentralised, climate-smart fertiliser production model tailored to smallholder farmers. Our solution transforms agricultural waste into high-quality biochar-based fertiliser—Safi Sarvi—that restores degraded soils, increases crop yields by up to 30%, and sequesters carbon, making it both a productivity and climate solution.
Operating local micro-factories in rural communities, Safi Organics leverages Internet of Things (IoT) tools and soil diagnostics to customise fertiliser blends based on specific soil needs. This localised approach reduces production and transportation costs, creates rural jobs, and ensures affordability and accessibility for farmers. We served over 20,000 farmers, recycled more than 30,000 tons of biomass, and sequestered 12,000 tCO₂e.
Backed by leading partners including Africa Climate Ventures, P4G, DFC, and the Royal Academy of Engineering, Safi Organics is now scaling.
