Overview

Placemakers is developing a Green 6-phase, 1,148-unit affordable housing estate on the edge of Nairobi, for low and middle-income households. We have secured land, and development approvals. We are building low-rise apartments comprising: bedsitter, 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units which are built to Edge Green Certification standards.

Our Rent-To-Own model provides families with a path to ownership and the whole project has a purchase agreement from a Kenyan Property Fund.

Why Investing

1
Delivers Commercial Returns
Investing in green initiatives not only contributes to sustainability but also offers attractive financial returns, making it a smart addition to any investment portfolio.
2
Unlocking New Asset Classes for Pension Funds
By demonstrating that institutional-grade Green Affordable Housing can serve as a viable asset class, Kenyan Pension Funds can unlock domestic capital and drive the expansion of Green Affordable Housing projects.
3
Addressing the Housing Crisis
With 10 million Kenyans living in slums and only 26,000 mortgages available for a population of 53 million, investing in affordable housing solutions can transform lives, provide home ownership opportunities, and alleviate the rental burden faced by over 80% of Nairobi residents.
