Overview

How are elephants and craft beer related? The Okavango Craft Brewery is an exciting small business generating significant social and environmental impact, while conserving the worlds’ largest population of elephants. We are linking hundreds of small-scale farmers in the Okavango Delta, Botswana to an emerging food & beverage manufacturing industry in Maun (the gateway to the Okavango).

Farmers get paid premium prices for their millet and sorghum in return for practicing regenerative agriculture and making efforts to preserve and coexist with Botswana’s elephants. Partnering with a local NGO, our story is backed by ‘elephant aware’ certification, now also certified as “Wildlife Friendly” by WFEN, monitored and certified via a SMART phone app., bringing transparency and confidence in the marketplace, and helping unlock attractive market prices.
