GreenBox™ is a technology-driven climate and agritech company based in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, building affordable and accessible cold-chain infrastructure for underserved agricultural and fishing communities across Central Africa.

Our core innovation is a 100% solar-powered, decentralized cold-storage solution that extends the shelf life of perishable products from approximately 2 days to up to 21 days, helping reduce post-harvest losses by up to 90%. We provide solar-powered refrigerated boxes and cold-storage hubs as a service to smallholder farmers, fishers, fish farmers, poultry producers, retailers, and wholesalers, allowing them to preserve products without investing in or maintaining their own refrigeration infrastructure.

GreenBox also combines cold storage with a smart digital distribution platform that connects supply with demand. Farmers and fishers can access market information, coordinate storage and transport, and connect with rural and urban buyers. Our shared cold-chain logistics model enables users to access distant markets while maintaining product quality.

In three years, GreenBox has reached more than 3,800 fishers, supported over 3,000 retail buyers, and positively impacted more than 30,000 livelihoods, while helping participating producers increase incomes by more than 15% through improved preservation and market access.

Our business model combines pay-as-you-store cold-chain services, commercial GreenBox sales, and digital/logistics services. We are now focused on scaling this proven model across Congo and Central Africa, creating climate-resilient food systems, reducing food waste, increasing smallholder incomes, and creating inclusive economic opportunities, particularly for women and young people.
