Concept StageNasarawa SAPZ – Gudi Agro-Industrial Park
The Nasarawa Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) is a planned agro-industrial park at Gudi, Nasarawa State, estimated to cost about US$115 million. It is promoted by the Nasarawa State Government through NASIDA, the Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency. It forms part of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule’s strategy to diversify the economy beyond mining. The project draws on the State’s fertile agricultural belt and its proximity to Abuja.
The project will have an Agro-Industrial Hub for processing, storage and value addition, linked to Agricultural Transformation Centres that handle production and aggregation. The priority value chains are rice, sugar, dairy and horticulture.
A feasibility study has been completed. It covers:
value-chain and market demand analysis;
site suitability;
infrastructure gaps and links to the feedstock catchment;
a conceptual master plan, designs and cost estimates.
