Utilizing Ethiopia’s abundant bamboo resources—comprising 70% of Africa’s supply—the company initially produced bamboo-framed wheelchairs to enhance accessibility for 1.4 million people in need of mobility aids. They have since expanded to include children’s balance bikes, 14-inch kids’ bikes, adult bikes, and bamboo bike frames for export.
These products support Ethiopia’s Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) Strategy 2020-2029, which encourages sustainable transport. Bamboo’s rapid growth and carbon-sequestering qualities make it an effective resource for climate change mitigation.
