Overview

The project is tackling the core inefficiencies in Uganda’s oilseed sector by building an integrated, member-based supply chain for high-quality, climate-resilient sim-sim( sesame), soybean, sunflower, gnuts and other ilseeds. The initiative focuses on bulking, value addition, and export marketing to bridge the gap between smallholder farmers and lucrative international markets. It has empowered a network of over 5,000 farmers with inputs, extension services, digital and financial literacy, and market access needed to transition from subsistence to commercial agribusiness. This model ensures a reliable and consistent supply of organic and premium products for global buyers while generating sustainable incomes and significant employment opportunities that promote the resilience of farmers to the effects of climate change and other disasters.
