IAMGOLD finalises 100% sale of Guinea Gold assets

IAMGOLD Corporation has completed the sale of its 100% interest in the Karita Gold Project and related exploration assets in Guinea Toronto, Ontario.

This sale is part of an agreement disclosed on December 20, 2022, in which IAMGOLD committed to transferring its projects in Senegal, Guinea, and Mali to Managem for approximately $282 million (pre-tax). The company had already completed the sale of its Senegalese assets, including the Boto Gold Project, on April 26, 2023.

This transaction represents an important milestone in IAMGOLD’s roadmap for the optimisation of its portfolio through the divestiture of its West African exploration and development assets.

The Diakha-Siribaya Gold Project in Mali remains pending. This agreement reflects IAMGOLD’s strategic effort to streamline its asset portfolio while focusing on optimizing its core operations.
