AfriSam built two multipurpose courts at Diazville Primary, enabling inclusive sports like Futsol, Netball, and Tennis.

AfriSam has upgraded the sports facilities at Diazville Primary School on the West Coast by constructing a state-of-the-art astro turf multipurpose court. This initiative aims to empower learners by promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and holistic development through improved sports facilities.

“AfriSam is committed to the sustainable development of the communities surrounding our operations. We are proud to make a lasting contribution to the wellbeing of the learners at Diazville Primary School,” said Senzi Mabaso, Community Development Specialist at AfriSam.

The project involved removing the school’s deteriorated asphalt surface, preparing a new base, and installing 1,600 m² of astro turf with designated lines for multiple sports disciplines. By employing local labour and subcontractors, AfriSam ensured the community directly benefited from the project.

Located in Diazville, within the Saldanha Bay Municipality, the school now boasts modern facilities that offer a safe and inclusive environment for learners to engage in sports.
