Zama Pila is the Group ESG Manager at Dis-Chem Pharmacies, where she leads the Group’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy, driving sustainability integration across the business. She has more than 19 years of experience spanning sustainability, energy, mining, geology and environmental management, with expertise in climate strategy, ESG reporting, carbon management, governance and stakeholder engagement.
Zama holds a BSc in Geology and Geography, a BSc (Honours) in Energy Studies from the University of Johannesburg, and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. She is a recognised sustainability leader, conference facilitator and speaker, contributing to industry discussions on ESG, climate resilience, corporate governance and sustainable development across Africa.
