Scion Energy DRC was established in 2020 to pursue unique small to medium hydropower opportunities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, assisting in solving the country’s severe energy challenges and assisting with the provision of baseload power for industrial customers, namely the mining industry, while being mindful of the socio-economic benefits that such projects could bring to local communities.

Scion Energy is now pleased to announce that Thierry Naweji, who has been instrumental in the scoping of Scion Energy’s projects in the DRC, has now officially been appointed as the Managing Director of Scion Energy DRC.

Thierry, with a background in electrical engineering, is a proficient businessman, with a passion for management and politics. He is a recognized expert in the Democratic Republic of Congo with entrenched networks in the country’s private and public sectors. He is also a co-founder of the SA-DRC Chamber of Commerce based in South Africa.

As such, Thierry is the perfect candidate to head up Scion’s DRCs operations, furthering its hydro power project development objectives.
