Prof Sampson Mamphweli is Head of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation’s Energy Secretariat at SANEDI. He leads flagship research, development and innovation programmes covering Coal CO2-to-X, Hydrogen South Africa, energy storage and renewable and sustainable energy. He holds a PhD in Physics and has an extensive academic and research track record in energy, including appointments at Stellenbosch University and the Durban University of Technology. He also contributes to national energy advisory structures and the Presidential Energy Crisis Committee.
