Francois Grove is Rehabilitation & Closed Mines Manager at Thungela Resources. He began his mining career in coal-bed methane and holds an MSc in Environmental Science, with research focused on the treatment and beneficiation of carbonate-rich coal-seam water. Since 2007, he has worked across the coal mining industry in environmental and operational roles, including Environmental Superintendent and SHE Manager. His experience includes the implementation of innovative soil and water treatment approaches, passive treatment systems and other rehabilitation initiatives. Francois is focused on sustainable mining, mine closure and science-based approaches that improve long-term environmental performance and resilience.
