Bongiwe Mabusela is Director of the Mineral Resource and Energy Department, Government of South Africa. She has more than 10 years’ experience as a senior manager in government. She is a leader on ensuring inclusivity and diversity in the mining sector. These initiatives have resulted in opportunities for resilient start-ups, new entrants, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). She is a believer that SMEs are an engine of any economy. She is an annual speaker at the Mining Indaba conference held in South Africa addressing issues of inclusivity and participated in the 2023 DRC Mining Week.
