Stephen K. Macharia is the Principal, Investments at FSD Africa Investments (FSDi), the investing arm of FSD Africa. Stephen has more than 16 years of principal investing experience spanning asset management, venture capital, private equity, and impact investing. He’s responsible for investment execution across the investment process, from origination to exit. He’s been involved in numerous private equity transactions on the continent with a cumulative deal value of over USD 500 million.

Stephen started out his career in the Alternatives space as an analyst in the venture capital space and has since worked across mid-market PE on both sides as a GP and LP. Stephen sits on numerous Advisory Committee positions as well as holding Board director positions for FSDi’s portfolio. Stephen holds a joint master’s degree in business administration from Strathmore Business School and a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science.
