After studying management in the French capital, Placide NKALA BASADILUA specialized in finance,
tax exemption and offshore investments. Answering the call of the country, he left the world of
entrepreneurship to become Advisor in charge of the business and investment climate at the Prime
Minister’s Office, a position he held for 5 years. Building on his diverse experience, he entered the
mining sector, becoming Deputy Managing Director of Kamoto Copper Compagny (KCC) for 6 years.
On February 23, 2023, he was appointed Managing Director of Générale des Carrières et des Mines
(GECAMINES), his current position, by presidential decree.
