Petrus Swanepoel

Infrastructure Sustainability Manager

Petrus Swanepoel is the Sustainability Manager at Mediclinic Southern Africa. Prior to his appointment in his current position in 2021, he was a Regional Engineer at Mediclinic and responsible for the technical operation at 8 Mediclinic hospitals in the Central region.

He is a qualified mechanical engineer with a passion for people, technology, and challenges.

In 2005 he was the founder member of the central branch of the South African Federation for Healthcare Engineers. In 2010 he received an eta award for Eskom and the Department of Energy for his contribution to energy saving. He is also a Certified Energy Auditor, Certified Measurement and Verification Professional, Certified Energy Manager, and Certified Water Efficiency Professional. He obtains credentials in Basic Financial Management, Project Management, Operational Management, and Business management from the University of Cape Town.

He is a member of the South African Association for Energy Efficiency, the Engineering Council of South Africa, the South African Federation of Healthcare Engineers, and the Measurement and Verification Council of Africa.
