Petro Myburgh, Senior Manager: Sustainability, leads key sustainability initiatives at the V&A Waterfront, focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, circular economy strategies, and stakeholder engagement. Her role involves creating and implementing frameworks for ESG and circularity, developing partnerships with government and advocacy organizations, and ensuring the integration of sustainable practices into operations.
Petro has been instrumental at the V&A Waterfront, leading projects such as the Waste Recovery and Recycling Centre, which diverts significant amounts of waste from landfills, and contributed to the establishment of an Urban Garden, contributing to sustainable food programs.
Petro oversees projects like the V&A Waterfront’s future Waste to Energy Pyrolysis Plant and holds various qualifications, including a Sustainability Practitioner’s Programme from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and is an Accredited Professional: Existing Building Performance by the Green Building Council of South Africa.
